a house at Amari Valley, Rethymno Crete
Lotusland
The house was built between 1930 and 1933, by the grandfather of the owner. It is located on the northeastern edge of the village, with unobstracted view towards mountain Ida/Psiloritis, parts of the Amari valley and nearby small hills. The house was uninhabited since 2009, with occasional summer visits until 2014. It was fully renovated in 2022.
The house surface is 90 square meters and it possesses one large veranda facing north and a large courtyard, partly covered by a pergola and a large vine tree (planted when the house was initially built). The shadow of the vine tree during summer offers unforgettable moments in the heart of Cretan landscape.
